Who's making the headlines?

Article Abstract:

Journalists now tend to increasingly manipulate the words of politicians, rather than simply reporting what has been said. In the same way, politicians use the media for their own purposes. Politicians must now be robust enough to face continuous scrutiny of their words and actions, and rely very heavily on 'information handlers' to help them deal with this. Journalists often pick up on a small element of political activity, emphasising it out of all proportion and giving the general public a very distorted view.

This has led to politics becoming irrelevant.
