Why Bill must party with Gerry
Article Abstract:
The 1995 St Patrick's Day celebrations at the White House will be more politically tense than in previous years, as Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams will be attending. The UK government has been greatly angered by the way Gerry Adams has been welcomed and accepted in the US, but the US has fewer regrets about the negative impact this has had on the special relationship between the two countries. Bill Clinton is most concerned with ensuring the Irish vote in the US as he battles for re-election.

The UK government is working out how to react towards the US in this matter.
