Illegal immigration: where are the facts?

Article Abstract:

The UK government has been increasingly targeting illegal immigrants and bogus asylum seekers, and most recently has announced measures to end benefit, housing and health fraud by these groups of people. However, it is finding it hard to establish a coordinated approach to this problem because there is still no reliable information about how many illegal immigrants there are, where they are living or where they have come from. Under this new approach, public figures such as teachers, housing officers and health administrators will bear more responsibility for detecting and reporting illegal immigrants.

One-man crusade against miscarriages of justice

Article Abstract:

Freedom Now has attracted little media attention, despite its success in campaigning for justice for Britons facing legal action abroad. The group is run on a very small scale by lawyer Andrew McCooney, who works very long hours and often uses his own funds. His strong religious beliefs prompt him to campaign for people who otherwise would not have access to justice.
