Yes, women can get HIV, too

Article Abstract:

Many casualty staff and GPs fail to diagnose HIV in women because they think of Aids as a male disease. There are 2,500 women in Britain who know they are infected. Aids-related infections can be treated promptly if the patient knows they are HIV-positive. Few hospitals offer pregnant women routine testing, although patients assume they do. Research at the Middlesex Hospital will investigate about 500 HIV-infected women to discover whether the disease affects them differently from men.

Fat is an infantile issue

Article Abstract:

The Child Growth Foundation has published charts indicating the Body Mass Index for boys and girls in the UK. These charts will be useful for parents who worry that their children do not eat enough or eat too much, as they show what is average, what is obese and what is very underweight. The Child Growth Foundation believes that these charts will be particularly valuable for identifying obesity, which is becoming an increasingly common problem among children in the UK.
