Ever done fashion? No? The job's your; 'Elle' has hired a new editor straight from Fleet Street
Article Abstract:
Angela Palmer, 36, was appointed editor of 'Elle' magazine in Jun 1992. She has experience at 'The Daily Telegraph' and 'The Times' and she was news editor and editor of the colour magazine at 'The Observer.' She is keen on fashion and attended art college for one year, but feels that the editor's task is to obtain good work from the staff, who are the fashion experts. The circulation of 'Elle' reduced from 249,000 in 1987 to 170,000 in 1991, its main competitor being 'Marie Claire.'
