Many manufacturers of beauty products now have an item in their range which is claimed to rejuvenate a dull, tired complexion and make you feel younger and more attractive. University Medical, for example, has a Face Lift package which includes Youth Serum/C, Prima Hydroxy Daily Cleanser and Under Eye Therapy. L'Occitane Soothing Exfoliating Face Mask produces pleasing results, as does Boots Botanics Clear Away Cleansing Scrub.

Fear grips investors as FTSE hits 34-month low

Statistics indicating problems in the UK manufacturing sector and the US services sector have unsettled investors, leading to a flurry of selling. The FTSE 100 dropped by 111.7 points to 5,204.3, its lowest level since 1998. Sectors that respond closely to consumer confidence, such as housing, are beginning to look vulnerable.

Lehman Brothers may be last-minute hope for Bioglan to complete fundraising

Biotechnology firm Bioglan Pharma may not be able to go ahead with plans to purchase Bristol-Myers Squibb's skincare product range unless it can take on a new broker to manage fundraising for the deal. The leading candidate is US investment bank Lehman Brothers.
