"Brew it yourself."(design of teapot of Tetley Group)(Industrial Design in Practice)

Article Abstract:

The Tetley Group has developed "brew it yourself" teapots to enhance the out of home consumption of tea for consumer satisfaction. The teapot is designed by the Pankhurst Design and Development Limited. High quality impact resistant polymer is used to improve the durability of the teapots. Teapots have clear bases to enable the users to have a control over the brewing. The spout geometry of the teapot is designed by using 3D CAD. The teapot has received the Gold award for the best product at the UK's major catering exhibition.

Article Abstract:

A group of researchers in the Materials Physics Group at the University of Wales' dept of physics is examining the mechanisms that control the groupings of rare-earth ions in fiber optic communications cables. They have found that the more neodymium ions that can be trapped into the glassy matrices without them clustering together yields higher power. Another finding is that the addition of different materials to the rare earth leads to the retention of the quenched fluorescence and the transmission of signal without loss.
