A number of design projects are underway in Europe. These include Smallfry Industrial Design Consultants' creation of the 'Salon Performance' range of hair brushes for retailer Boots PLC which reflects a professional salon feel and the European Commission's Multimedia Assets for Design or MAID project which brings together European industrial designers to find ways of reducing the design cycle for various industrial design activities.

Article Abstract:
Pearson Matthews is credited with the design of the 'Persona' non-systemic, non-invasive contraceptive product. The design process included the performance of a feasibility study and use of focus groups to obtain design ideas while the finished product underwent thorough testing to assess its performance. Special attention was also given to the design of the product's casing to promote reassuring values to users.
