Designing for drama
Article Abstract:
The construction work of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center is in progress. The speciality of the design lies in the adjustable ceiling and stage elements, its unique theater underfloor air supply and exceptional acoustics. Barton Myers Associates Architects of Los Angeles, CA and Wilson Woodridge Architects of Newark, NJ are the design maker of the Performing Arts Center. The design of the house is based on traditional opera house configuration with proscenium arch and full stage house.

Center stage
Article Abstract:
The First Regiment Armory Annex in Portland, Oregon was transformed into a theater home to Portland Center Stage and received a platinum rating from the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Details on the design and remodeling of the armory to become a theater are discussed.
