Bright star among billions

Article Abstract:

Sagan was the foremost popularizer of science, through his books, articles, public appearances and television series 'Cosmos.' He was also a brilliant scientist. Humorous, charismatic and clear-speaking, he conveyed the idea that real science was so exciting, there is no need for pseudo-science.

All-star group prescribes partnerships for R&D woes

Article Abstract:

The California meeting was the first of three planned regional forums on building research ties among universities, government and industry. One sponsoring body, the Center for Wireless Communications at UC-San Diego, is an example of partnerships between the three sectors the meeting promoted.
