EINSTEIN'S COMPASS: What was it about the magnetism of an iron bar that could divert Einstein from perfecting his celebrated theory of general relativity?

Article Abstract:

The article chronicles Albert Einstein's magnetism research, focusing on the patent infringement case regarding conversion of powered gyroscopes into compasses. Due to the royalties involved, Einstein focused his attention on magnetism rather than physics, although his royalties for his work in physics eventually proved to be greater.
