The United States, as a democratic nation with a strong economy, has an enormous responsibility in the new international system. Globalization has replaced the cold-war system, and involves the integration of free markets and information technologies. However, there is a powerful backlash from countries that have been left behind. US leaders need to create a strategy for sustainable globalization here and abroad, while contending with the world's love-hate relationship with America.

Market research must prioritize the user benefits and ensure that the demand is widespread to meet production volume targets.
