The Liberal government creates a new management plan for Banff National Park aimed at changing the management system of Parks Canada and restoring the park's ecological integrity. Human development is one factor affecting the park's ecological integrity.

Speak out for Banff National Park

The Banff Bow Valley Task Force will submit proposals to the Canadian government on the protection of the overdeveloped and mismanaged Banff National Park. The Canadian Nature Foundation is urging Canadians to add their voice to that of the Task Force.

Heritage minister takes action to save Banff National Park

The Banff-Bow Valley Task Force has proposed limiting development as a measure to save the Banff National Park from further deterioration. The park has been placed under pressure from developments stemming from the tourism industry of the area.
