New spin on the world

Article Abstract:

An overview of anthropological research is presented, which indicates that the North American continent was populated by humans as many as 20 to 30 thousand years ago. Scientists have classified 97% of Native Americans into four groups, based on mitochondrial DNA. The theories of five scientists are presented.

Blood cleaner

Issues are presented concerning the development of a blood cleaning agent named S-59 which binds to nucleic acid preventing replication. The S-59 agent has been developed by the Cerus Corporation.

Water desalination

A description is presented of the use of the process of reverse osmosis for the desalination of sea water. The five stages which the sea water goes through within the plant are discussed.
