Nitrogen saturation in the rocky mountains
Article Abstract:
The effect of increased ambient concentrations of atmospheric nitrogen on high-elevation catchments located in the vicinity of the Colorado Front Range was investigated. The results indicate that the ecosystem dynamics at high-elevation catchments have shifted from an N-limited system to an N-saturated system. Previous studies indicate that this is a regional problem in the Colorado Front Range.
