Electrodynamic Tethers in Space: by exploiting fundamental physical laws, tethers may provide low-cost electrical power, drag, thrust, and artificial gravity for spaceflight
Article Abstract:
The design and construction of electrodynamic tethers are described, along with their potential applications. An electrically conductive cable that exploits orbital mechanics would eliminate dependency on chemical energy sources for space flight.
