On the mechanical threshold stress of aluminum: effect of the alloying content

Article Abstract:

The mechanical behavior of aluminum with different alloying contents up to 1 wt percent, deformed under hot-working conditions, is analyzed. The flow stress and work hardening behavior of aluminum with different alloying contents can be described satisfactorily by combining the exponential-saturation law.

An assessment of in-service stress relaxation of a work-hardened aluminum magnesium alloy

Article Abstract:

A simple bending test to study relaxation at stress levels well below the usual 0.2 percent offset yield stress is outlined. A model is developed by Garmestani and Hart help to characterize microplastic processes leading to permanent deformation of the bent beam.

Hole-drilling residual stress profiling with automated smoothing

Article Abstract:

A report on an effective procedure to allow stable hole-drilling residual stress calculation by using strain data from measurements, Tikhonov regularization to reduce noise sensitivity and Morozov criterion to obtain realistic results is presented.
