The World Health Organizations mounted a campaign that successfully eradicated smallpox from the world. The campaign involved identifying cases of smallpox, and then aggressively inoculating anybody who may also have contracted the disease. Many nations were involved, and the total cost of the smallpox eradication campaign was about $330 million.

Article Abstract:
A national hotline and 1600 screening centers will provide free help to people want to cure an addiction to alcohol on National Alcohol Screening Day, Apr 8, 1999. Screening can motivate alcoholics to confront their problems with drinking. Six hundred of the centers will be located on college campuses.

Patterns of human growth
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that human growth occurs continuously despite previous findings to the contrary. Five infants were measured each day for a month using a design that controlled for possible measurement bias. Previous contradictory findings may have resulted from differences in research design.
