The Environmental Protection Agency's intention to tighten National Ambient Air Quality Standards for ozone and fine particles may be premature. Little is known about the impact of airborne particulate matter on health. A $250-million, 5-year research program could answer many questions.

An art tour of unexpected glories

In the south of France are located many local museums featuring artists from the towns they are in that have surprisingly good works. While the artists on display may be second-rate the art is not, showing great taste and good concepts.
