Studies on the interfacial characterization of O/W emulsion for the optimization of its treatment
Article Abstract:
Wastewater in the form of an oil/water (o/w) emulsion, which is discharged from industrial activities like cosmetic production, plating, machining and food processing, is harder to treat than other types of wastewater because of its physicochemical characteristics and complex behavior. The following study investigates the interfacial features of emulsion systems in an effort to obtain information for the optimization of emulsion controlling processes.

Study of Au/Au(super 3+) - TiO(sub 2) photocatalysts toward visible photooxidation for water and wastewater treatment
Article Abstract:
A new type of photocatalyst powder was prepared in the following experiment in an effort to eliminate rapid recombination of excited holes/electrons during photoreaction and extend light absorption toward the visible light range of TiO(sub 2)-based photocatalyst. TiO(sub 2) photocatalysis is the focus of many studies because of its application for the mineralization of inorganic constituent and organic contaminants CO(sub 2) and H(sub 2)O. TiO(sub 2) is one of the more widely studied materials in photocatalysis because of its ease of availability, low cost, high stability and chemical and physical properties.
