Subjective judgments by climate experts

Article Abstract:

Climate experts agree that water vapor feedback and cloud optical properties are the key factors determining climate variability. Using the 'expert elicitation' approach, a study revealed that there is a great uncertainty about the geophysics of climate change based on the responses of 16 leading climate experts because of their biases. It also showed that a strong disagreement of opinions about the nature of the climate system exists among climate experts.
