Sweeping court decision could crush smog plans, rein in TRI and wetlands rules

Article Abstract:

The order to create new standards for ozone and particulate matter standards by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit may give way for various industries to challenge the Toxic Release Inventory, the wetlands programs and others through petitions. Unless the Department of Justice overturns the ruling of the appeals court, the Environmental Protection Agency cannot enforce the prevailing ozone and particulate matter standards.
