The 'criminalization' of government procurement
Article Abstract:
Contract compliance programs can help companies comply with the numerous laws governing contracts and subcontracts with the federal government, avoid criminal prosecution and reduce violation fines. These should include a code of ethics which the companyenforces and instils in their employees and a strategy for effective delegationof responsibility. These should also entail a program for reporting violations, corrective measures for non-compliance and constant evaluation of the compliance program. Contractors should also maintain a records management program wherein records are kept for the duration specified by law.

Global growth spurt for infranstructure privatization
Article Abstract:
General consensus among industrialists and economists is for the ushering in of privatization in sponsoring and enhancing previously publicly managed infrastructure. Fields such as waste water treatment, purification of drinking water, containing industrial and power-related pollution offer private enterprises an opportunity to display their wares. However, implementation of private sector infrastructure management faces potential problems in the guise of negative public opinion as a consequence of the high costs involved.

In an era of shrinking government, is privatization the American way?
Article Abstract:
The concept of privatizing all infrastructure, such as wastewater treatment plants, highways and airports, is gaining support in the US. Many problems, such as the tax code's discrimination, could arise due to privatization. A study shows that a gradual change could be brought about in about 15-20 years. Privatization could result in $24.5 billion in federal tax. There is a need to remove legal hurdles to succeed in privatization.
