Nuclear power plants are gaining importance considering their eco-friendly nature compared to the other power sources that threat the ecology with greenhouse gas emissions resulting in global warming and volatile prices. However skepticism prevails about the cost of building a nuclear power plant and precise projection of the power supply cost and also the management of waste.

The author discusses the devastating effects of global warming on the ice sheets that are found below Greenland and Antarctica. The findings show that these sheets on melting have the capability of raising the sea level to an extremely dangerous mark.

Article Abstract:

The use of nuclear power to reduce global warming which does not appeal to developing countries that are faced with more pressing needs in health, education and poverty reduction, is discussed.
