Continental rifting and habitat formation: arena for resource polymorphism in Arctic Charr
Article Abstract:
The habitat, evolution and ecosystem of Icelandic lake Thingvallavatn is described. A special examination is made of the Arctic charr. Thingvallavatn is the only lake in the world with four Arctic charr morphs which utilize different types of food resources. The morphs also possess three different types of genetic differentiation.
