This article discusses the development of transportation infrastructure in Hong Kong to meet the demands of a mobile and growing population. The West Rail, a project of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, is about 49 mile rail system consisting of 40 percent in tunnels, links the country's existing railway systems.
