Without a car in the world
Article Abstract:
The author of the book 'How the Automobile Took Over America and How We Can Take It Back' decided to give up owning a car to be more effective in preaching the benefits of car-free living. The author's car-free existence has so far been satisfying that her friends confess to being envious of her. Through her book, the author discusses the problems that come from America's 'love affair' with the automobile and how new measures could help one reject the auto as one's Manifest Destiny.
