You, deep sea explorer

Article Abstract:

Little Hercules is a submersible that was used to view shipwrecks in Lake Huron. A project is underway to allow the public to control a remote operated vehicle to explore a shipwreck in Lake Huron in the Thunder Bay Marine Sanctuary. The technology of the project for the Immersion Institute at the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration (Connecticut), is discussed.

The once and future spaceman; space exploration

Article Abstract:

Former astronaut Buzz Aldrin, one of the first men on the moon, is currently working on a program to launch an American space station into orbit. He has devised two possible plans, one that would require four shuttle launches, the other two launches. Details of Aldrin's plans are discussed.

Deep look into space

Article Abstract:

The European Southern Observatory in Chile is planning the development of the Very Large Telescope (VLT), the biggest optical telescope in the world. The VLT will consist of a combination of four telescopes, each with its own 27-foot mirror. Completion is planned for the late 1990s.
