A national study of the location of death for older persons with dementia
Article Abstract:
A cross sectional study on Americans aged 65 and older and suffering with dementia and to learn about the most common places of their deaths is presented. A comparative analysis of the state health system factors such as the availability of the hospital and nursing home beds related to the location of dementia-related deaths with those of cancer and all other conditions is also presented. The results indicate that most of the elderly persons die in nursing homes.
