Are older hazardous and harmful drinkers less likely to participate in health-related behaviors and practices as compared with nonhazardous drinkers
Article Abstract:
This article examines the relationship between alcohol consumption patterns and health-related behaviors among adults over fifty-five years old. Findings indicate that harmful, hazardous, and at-risk drinkers are more likely to drink and drive, ride with a drunk driver, drive without seat belts and smoke than social drinkers.

An evaluation of an intervention to assist primary care physicians in screening and educating older patients who use alcohol
Article Abstract:
The possibility of furnishing doctors and elderly patients with reports of drinking risks resulting in mitigation of alcohol-related problems is examined. Individualized information regarding drinking and health should be given to elderly primary care patients. It may have a positive effect on drinking risks.
