Article Abstract:
An investigation was conducted to examine changes in cognitive performance, depression, social engagement, and activities of daily living (ADL) among interinstitutional relocations undertaken by nursing home residents. The negative health outcomes as a result of interinstitutional relocation are thought to occur as a result of stress, which influence physical, social, and psychological conditions, and stress is experienced because of the loss of familiar objects and caregivers, and the potential loss of possessions and friends.
