Compliance with PASARR recommendations for Medicaid recipients in nursing homes
Article Abstract:
A study has been carried out to determine the rate of compliance with Preadmission Screening and Annual Resident Review (PASARR) recommendations for Medicaid recipients in nursing homes. The forms are used to identify recommendations for inpatient psychiatric care for those needing more care than nursing homes provide. They also indicate need for alternate disposition for individuals needing less than nursing needed but not provided. Many subjects needed more mental health services than they got. A significant minority could have been given alternate disposition. Rarely did that happen.
