Consequences of men's retirement for the continuation of work-related personal relationships
Article Abstract:
The important marker of life cycle is retirement and has a major impact on individual's functioning as it is hypothesized that retirement decreases the likelihood of continuation of coworker relationships. The results of multilevel regression analyses showed a stable network size for both working and retired men among all men the number of work-related network members declined but more strongly among retirees.

Single older men in disadvantaged households: narratives of meaning around everyday life
Article Abstract:
An in-depth interview data from the Ageing Men's Health Project, a three-year ethnographic study of the health, housing, and service use of low income, single, men aged 50 years and over, living in the inner city of Sydney, Australia is discussed. The findings highlight the extent to which the men's everyday lives are constrained and curtailed by economic disadvantage and health deficits.
