Diagnosis of geriatric patients with severe dizziness
Article Abstract:
Older patients with severe dizziness may develop a related type of vertigo or a cardiovascular disease, depending on the type of presenting symptoms. Researchers linked falls and/or fainting and a history of heart problems to a cardiovascular diagnosis in 28% of the 50 patients examined. Peripheral vestibular disorder, such as common vertigo or Meniere's disease, were diagnosed in 18% of the patients who had related symptoms. No cause was found in 22% of all patients.

Interactive video specialty consultations in long-term care
Article Abstract:
The outcomes of a provider and resident satisfaction with specialist physician consultations provided via interactive video to residents of a long-term care (LTC) center are assessed. It was observed that there was a high rate of physician, patient, and nurse satisfaction with interactive video conferencing and that it is advantageous to patients as it avoided traveling and ensured greater continuity of care.
