Article Abstract:

The role of specific cognitive abilities in an individual's decision-making process in a simulated medical decision task was explored. The study focused on judgments about effective treatments for menopause, such as Estrogen Replacement Therapy (ERT). The results emphasize the importance of cognitive abilities in decisions about medical treatment, and highlight possible mechanisms that could be used to help older adults compensate for the loss of cognitive abilities.
