Article Abstract:

A study to assess whether older adults are able to encode perceptual and contextual features and whether source memory performance in younger and older adults would improve by manipulations designed to enhance utilization of cues is presented. It is concluded that older adults suffer from a cue utilization deficit, and this contributes to the age-related susceptibility in the imagination inflation paradigm.
