Efficacy of percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation for the treatment of chronic lower back pain in older adults
Article Abstract:
The effectiveness of percutaneous electric nerve stimulation (PENS) in treating elderly patients with chronic lower back pain was evaluated. The study found that patients who were given PENS treatments in addition to physical therapy showed longer pain relief and greater mobility than patients treated with physical therapy alone.

Chronic pain is associated with self-reported appetite impairment in older adults. The association between self-reported appetite impairment and pain intensity is examined among community-dwelling older adults with chronic nonmalignant pain.
