A fit person to run a home: registered homes tribunal interpretations of the 'fit person' concept in the United Kingdom
Article Abstract:
A range of abusive practices occurring in care homes was examined. Levels of unfitness of people who wish to carry on the occupation of care home managers and proprietors were also analyzed. Results indicated the need for reform concerning processes that relate to inspection and developing practices. Findings also showed that the failure to address the lack of qualified home operators would promote a decline in standards of care for residents.
