Guidelines for the promotion of exercise for older patients are offered to healthcare providers. Topics include the different modes of exercise for older people, the benefits of exercise for older people, approaching and motivating the sedentary older patient, writing the exercise prescription, decreasing sedentary activities, and issues important for follow-up.

A random controlled trial of an enhanced balance training program to improve mobility and reduce falls in elder patients
Article Abstract:
The effectiveness of an enhanced balance training program in improving mobility and well -being of elderly people with balance program is evaluated. It was concluded that independent of strategy, exercise programs significantly improve balance and mobility in patients with balance problems.

Moderate-intensity aerobic training improves glucose tolerance in aging independent of abdominal adiposity
Article Abstract:
Aerobic training in older people increase glucose tolerance by 16% and indicated a 24% decrease in free fatty acids, however the training had no effect on abdominal fat. The aerobic training group exercised 4 times a week for 60 minutes.
