Inhibitory processes and spoken word recognition in young and older adults: The interaction of lexical competition and semantic context
Article Abstract:
The importance of inhibitory abilities and semantic context to spoken word recognition in older and young adults was examined. Older adults found it more difficult to recognize words with many neighbors, although older adults showed greater benefits with the addition of contextual information. Individual differences in inhibitory abilities made a significant contribution to recognition performance for lexically hard words although not for lexically easy words.

Aging and the perception of biological motion
Article Abstract:
Different ways, in which observers recognize biological motion changes with increasing age, are examined with the help of two experiments. The ability to identify and discriminate among different types of biological motion is relatively well preserved throughout the latest periods of life.

The effects of age and dementia of the Alzheimer's type on phonological false memories
Article Abstract:
Three experiments were conducted that examined the effects of age and dementia of Alzheimer's type (DAT) on phonological false memories. The results are discussed within the inhibitory deficit framework of cognitive aging.
