Modeling late-life adaptation in affective well-being under a chronic health condition: The case of age-related macular degeneration
Article Abstract:
A study of adaptation in affective well-being under a prevalent chronic health condition was studied using age-related macular degeneration as a case model in which measures of positive and negative affect were analyzed in older adults diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Results showed an initial decline in affective well-being after disease outbreak followed by a turnaround into a restorative phase of increase for positive affect but not for negative affect.

Adult age differences in multiple cognitive functions: differentiations, dedifferentiation, or process-specific change?
Article Abstract:
Adult age differences in covariance structures of latent variables of vocabulary, list recall, speed, working memory, and text recall, were analyzed to test hypotheses of structural changes with age. There were no changes in factor standard deviations or covariances. Findings did not support models of dedifferentiation with age.
