Relationship of events and affect in the daily life of an elderly population
Article Abstract:
Analysis of the association between emotional well-being and positive, negative episodes in depressed and nondepressed nursing home residents revealed that variations in daily life were linked to the residents' affect. Elimination of residential and psychopathological effects resulted in a sustained correspondence between mood and event valence. The Philadelphia Geriatric Center Positive and Negative Affect rating scales were used in the study.
