Risk factors for deep vein thrombosis in inpatients aged 65 and older: a case-control multicenter study
Article Abstract:
The study aims to identify independent risk factors of symptomatic deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in geriatric inpatients and to define high-risk patients likely to benefit from preventive treatment. The study with multivariate analysis identifies a number of independent medical risk factors for symptomatic DVT in geriatric patients.

Assessment of Pneumonia in older adults: effect of functional status
Article Abstract:
Research to determine the effect of functional status before admission to hospital on severity of pneumonia, length of stay and mortality of aged patients, is presented. The impact of pneumonia on short-term functional impairment is also determined.
