The Revised Memory and Behavior Problems Checklist - Nursing Home: instrument development and measurement of burden among certified nursing

Article Abstract:

The confirmatory factor analysis of the Revised Memory and Behavior Problems Checklist-Nursing Home (RMBPC) replicated the factor structure of the community-based RMBPC. The RMBPC-NH represents a reliable and valid assessment of the frequency of nursing home residents' behavior problems.

Identification of strategies used to cope with chronic pain in older persons receiving primary care from a Veterans Affairs Medical Center

Article Abstract:

The strategies used by older persons for coping with chronic noncancer pain are identified and their effectiveness is examined. Analgesic medications, exercise, cognitive methods, religious activities and activity restriction are some of the coping strategies adopted by older persons.

Prescription and dosage of analgesic medication in relation to resident behaviors in the nursing home

Article Abstract:

Findings show that analgesics reduce the amount of time that nursing home residents spend being inactive due to pain. Studies were conducted on 92 residents in five nursing homes.
