"The invisible man?" older man in modern society
Article Abstract:
The aspects of continuity and change in the notions of masculinity for older men in a variety of contexts, including exit from the labor force, retirement, social exclusion, involvement in community, spouse care and finally widowhood is examined. The most important message is that older men are no more or no less homogenous than younger men, which means their self-identity continues to be shaped by their male biological and socio-cultural constructs.
