The politics of health and social welfare in the United States

Article Abstract:

The introduction of managed care and several other reforms have drastically altered and changed the politics of social welfare and have also led to the development of the private-public, segmented health care system in the United States. The strengths and weaknesses of the health care system in the country are analyzed and several politically practical options that can be implemented for reforms in the future are recommended.

The subjective evaluation of well-being in adulthood: Findings and implications

Article Abstract:

Evidence indicating the importance of demographic, personality and cultural variables to the experience of 'Subjective Well-Being' (SWB) is reviewed. High subjective well-being is related to situations like high level of relationship and marital satisfaction or success and satisfaction in work settings.
