Article Abstract:
Interactions involving support and advice are widely see as markers of the quality of social experience. A study investigated whether older adults differed from younger age groups in their experience of certain situations of unsolicited support in areas of health, finances, life management and cognition. Unasked for support was seen as more unpleasant than pleasant for all ages, although older adults reported less occurrence overall. Cognitive and social-related factors related to age were important in reported occurrence and affective appraisal.

Using the concept of wisdom to enhance the expression of wisdom knowledge: Not the philosopher's dream but differential effects of developmental preparedness
Article Abstract:
Three levels of activation of the concept of wisdom as well as intelligence-activation and control conditions were explored to study whether wisdom-related performance could be enhanced by an instruction referring to the abstract concept of wisdom. The general effect of the wisdom-concept instructions was not seen but participants high in preparedness resource associated with wisdom exhibited some gains whereas the performance of resource-low participants actually declined after the instructions.
