A survey-based pedagogical approach to ethics in the workplace
Article Abstract:
This article introduces an approach for understanding ethical behavior in the workplace that facilitates development of the sensibilities of individual managers. It begins with a general overview of ethical frameworks used to examine individual behavior in management education settings. Then, a scenario-based approach is presented as an alternative for individual and group learning about ethical behavior. A specific survey instrument designed to asses individual ethical decision-making styles developed by the authors is central to the approach, and the development and structure of the instrument is outlined. In the final section, the results of a preliminary application of this method in an MBA course setting (with implications for future use in educational and corporate training contexts) are discussed. Improved Rangeland Management with an Earth Resource Survey System
Article Abstract:
The use of satellites to improve resource management by improved information gained from remote surveillance is under investigation. The Department of Interior (DOI) is studying possible application to rangeland management. The kinds of management information required were identified. How an Earth Resource Survey (ERS) system would be developed is described. Cost benefit analysis indicates that the model described could provide better data at a lower cost than current systems. Environmental and social impact analysis, using a Delphi technique, generally indicated minimal benefits.

Turning research into policy: a survey on adolescent condom use
Article Abstract:
Educators, researchers and practitioners should encourage adolescents to use condoms during intercourse. A survey of 373 inner-city high school students was conducted in 1991 and 1992 to determine their attitude regarding condom use. The data reveals that majority of young students have used condoms at least once during intercourse. Educators can increase adolescent use of condoms by addressing and understanding issues like desire among adolescents.
