Assessing diversity climate: a field study of reactions to employer efforts to promote diversity
Article Abstract:
A survey was conducted to determine employee reactions to employer's efforts to promote diversity in the workplace. Results showed that white women and members of ethnic minorities valued this effort more than white men did. Groups which had members favoring diversity perceived that insufficient resources are provided for minority groups. Groups which had more women also showed more positive attitudes toward diversity. These indicate that group characteristics rather than nature of organization determined attitudes.

Work technology and the needs for achievement and nurturance among nurses
Article Abstract:
A study which explored the differences of the needs for achievement and nurturance between critical care, chronic care and rehabilitative care nurses was conducted using 86 registered nurses. Results indicate that nurses in critical care have less routine tasks and this provides greater opportunity to fulfill their achievement and nurturance needs. This, in turn, is reflected by higher job satisfaction.
