W22WII memorial becomes a reality
Article Abstract:
The World War II memorial is finally built on May 29, 2004, which took 59 years to be built in Washington DC, that paid a tribute to 16 million Americans. The process of building of memorial, and how different organizations helped by contributing funds for the cause is presented and also the fact that almost 3.5 million live Americans will have their own tribute among the monuments.

The Americans of the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) strive hard to find all the missing GIs. On their latest trip to Southeast Asia in February 2004, the Veterans of Foreign Wars leaders who had all served in Vietnam around 1968, saw the JPAC recovery teams searching for remains of some of the 1,862 Americans unaccounted for from the war.
